The reviewers’ opinion about the book is shown in the following:
I read the book “The Turning Point of October the 1st“ very carefully, taking notes. This book presents the most complete history of the student movement in 1997-1999 ever written. My impression is that this book is a particularly important work, which brings to light through indisputable evidence the political and national role of the student movement in those decisive years for the liberation of Kosovo. These are new data, unknown for the public to date, about activities, events, political behavior, different political parties and people. This information on one hand defeats the half-truths and the lies, and on the other hand affirms the rights and truths about the KLA, about the political forces and people who made and supported the liberation war, and parties and people who have opposed it. With the book “The Turning Point of October the 1st“ the most recent history of Kosovo at some point get released from the falsifications made by some political falsifiers for many years.
I wish to have much often chances to read such books that defend the truth and the right.

Bujar Dugolli’s book is written on two theoretical premises: it is an analytical-historical description, and also a subjective reflection on the past events. The reader through this book gets to know the characters of the student movement, their thoughts and expectations, the decisive moments and the moments of dilemmas and predicaments; its contradictions with other political groups and social structures, with the professors of the University of Prishtina and also the international diplomacy - the political pressure exerted on this group of students to give up the organizing of the demonstrations etc. The reader gets to see the small world of a group of students growing up slowly not every day, but every hour and moment, to see the ordinary days transforming into historical events.

A peaceful student protest for the return into the university buildings would change the direction of historical developments in Kosovo, in the same way as their predecessors did in 1981. Amongst the post-war publications this book is one of those rare historical books on this important event. Written mostly in the first person, with an easy style and clear language, the author sheds lights on events and characters that preceded and succeeded the developments the 1st October 1997, as a witness and contributor. The book is the story of an idealistic group of young people who not only changed the mindset of waiting but with their actions inaugurated the new political philosophy ‘just do it’.
